I sat in the living room of the Cullen home, pretending to be interested in the latest issue of Vouge while I waited for Alice. Alice had decided to cheer me up by taking me with her and Esme on a shopping trip. I know, cheer ME up by SHOPPING. I would laugh if I weren't so sad right now. I heard the door knob turn, and someone quietly opened the door behind me. Who was it? I turned around to see Reneesme, my beautiful daughter, walking into the room, Edward behind her. She smiled. I ran to her, pulling her into my arms and sweeping her off her feet in a tight hug. "I love you," I whispered. My baby was home.

I looked around the tiny living room of our cozy cottage on the Cullen's property. Edward was still hunting, and Ren was in her room, upset about Jake having to leave. I understood how she felt, but he couldn't be put in danger. I'll go talk to her, I thought, walking down the hall to he room.
"Ren, honey? You there?"
No answer. Hmm, thats starnge, I thought as I turned the knob. Maybe she was asleep? Being half-vampire she didn't sleep often, but Edward and I tried to get her to sleep every once and a while.
"Ren?"
I looked around the rom. She wasn't here. The window was open, and a breeze came into the room, causing a rustling piece of paprer on Reneesme's bed to catch my eyes. I walked over to the bed, picked it up, and read the horrifying words:
Mom, Aro aksed to me join the guard and I said yes. They can't harm Jacob If I'm one of them. I love you and Dad very much. Good bye.
Reneeseme
I started to cry violently. Reneesme, my baby,left me. Edward must have been on his way home, because he appeared a couple minutes later at my side.
"What is it, love?"
I couldn't speak. I just sobbed. My daughter was gone.
